Unity Health’s Infectious Diseases program helps patients living with infections caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites and fungi, in both outpatient and inpatient settings at St. Joseph’s Health Centre and St. Michael’s Hospital.

Infectious Diseases Clinic

This clinic is staffed by physicians specializing in infectious diseases who treat a variety of patients through virtual and in person visits for conditions such as tuberculosis, bone and joint infections, skin and soft tissue infections, wound infections, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), sexually transmitted infections, tropical and travel related illnesses, parasitic infections, and fungal infections.

Infectious Diseases at St. Michael's Hospital

This clinic is staffed by physicians specializing in infectious diseases who treat a variety of patients through virtual and in person visits for conditions such as tuberculosis, bone and joint infections, skin and soft tissue infections, wound infections, Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), sexually transmitted infections, tropical and travel related illnesses, parasitic infections, and fungal infections.

Our team also includes trainees from all disciplines who attend our clinic and interact with patients and their families, providing care under supervision.

Positive Care Clinic

The Positive Care Clinic (PCC) team at St. Michael’s provides total Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) care and services to patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Our team includes physicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, dietitians, research personnel, administrators and clerical staff who work together to provide comprehensive HIV care.

In addition to treating HIV, we offer pre- and post-exposure prophylaxis, and conduct research into the prevention and treatment of HIV. We offer HIV psychiatry services and treatment of HIV and Hepatitis C co-infection.
