CIBC Just for Kids Clinic

Temporarily closed to walk-ins beginning Monday, July 4

The Just for Kids Clinic is experiencing a significant increase in volumes of pediatric patients. In order to minimize wait times and crowding at peak times throughout the day, we are moving temporarily to a “save my spot” only schedule for the clinic starting Monday July 4, 2022.

Monday to Friday

Daytime spots (10 a.m. – 4:15 p.m.) will open for booking daily at 7 a.m.

Evening spots (4:30 p.m.– 7:30 p.m.) will open for booking daily at 1 p.m.

Daytime spots (10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.) will open for booking each morning at 7 a.m.

Please aim to arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment to allow for registration.

In the event that you cannot get a “save my spot” appointment and your child is unwell, please take them to your nearest walk-in clinic or emergency department.

*Please be aware that the JFK Clinic is staffed by on-call physicians who may be called to an emergency during their time in the clinic.  We make every effort to see patients at the time of their appointment spot, but there may be delays due to emergencies elsewhere in the hospital.

Please note:  Please do NOT call the clinic to ask about additional appointment times when no spots are available.  Please use alternate walk-in-clinics or your nearest emergency department.

Explainer: Where to take your child for care if they are unwell

  • We will no longer close for lunch
  • Saturday, Sunday and Holidays: 10 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

NEW Evening hours Monday to Friday 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Spots will be available using “Hold My Spot” bookings only, with the last booking at 7:15 p.m. We will NOT accept any walk-in patients after 4:30 p.m.

Please Note: We may be required to close the clinic to walk-ins periodically throughout the day due to high patient volumes and infection control measures in place in our waiting area. Please do NOT call the clinic to ask about wait times. Phone messages are not checked frequently.

We do NOT provide routine COVID-19 swabbing for children over the age of one year. If your child has mild symptoms such as a runny nose, nasal congestion, occasional cough or new onset of fever, or needs to be swabbed for daycare or school, you will be asked to make an appointment at a COVID-19 Assessment Centre instead.

We continue to see children who are ill with persistent fevers, persistent coughs or other medical conditions that require a physician assessment. Visit our COVID-19 Assessment Centre page for more testing information for children.

We do NOT see patients at the clinic for the following issues:

  • Routine COVID-19 testing
  • Suspected fractures
  • Head Injuries
  • Suturing
  • Immunizations
  • Mental health concerns

The CIBC Just For Kids Clinic is a clinic for children, providing care for newborns and up to a child’s 18th birthday. Our clinic is staffed by pediatricians who provide services to patients whose doctors may be away or unavailable.

As part of COVID-19 precautions we can only accommodate one visitor per patient, so please limit your visit to your child and one parent/guardian only (exception: 2 visitors for newborns up to 7 days).
