Unity Health celebrates Volunteer Week (Virtually)
The amazing volunteers of Unity Health Toronto have been absent from our hallways since March 13. But in honour of National Volunteer Week, Volunteer Services has launched a virtual volunteer lounge, complete with special volunteer appreciation content.
The online lounge was launched as a way to keep our volunteer informed and also engaged in preparation for their eventual return. The site also includes a special message from our CEO Tim Rutledge in recognition of volunteer week and an e-card volunteers can use to send a message back to Unity Health staff.
This continues to be a challenging time for everyone and we do not yet know when we will be able to welcome our volunteers back. But we know that they are missed and we would like to recognize and thank them for doing their part by staying home and healthy.
(March 12, 2020) – Please note that the Unity Health Toronto volunteer programs are currently suspended in order to better protect the health and safety of our volunteers, patients, residents, families and staff.
If you are a current volunteer, please check your email or leave us a voicemail message for information and updates.
If you are a future applicant, please periodically check our website for updates as to when we will resume normal operations.
We thank you for your interest in volunteering with Unity Health Toronto. At present, we are accepting volunteer applications through the specific site at which you wish to volunteer. We suggest you explore the volunteer positions offered at each hospital location within the network and at the House of Providence long-term care site, as some volunteer opportunities will be unique to that location.
