Electronic Patient Record (EPR) project
When Unity Health Toronto established our first strategic plan in 2019, we committed to transforming our digital and physical infrastructure to provide the best care experiences for our patients, families and community members. A key step in this work is planning and implementing a network-wide electronic patient record (EPR) system that supports multiple care environments, from home to hospital and community.
Unity Health is pleased to share that we’ve signed a contract with Epic Systems, a leading health care software company, to help build and implement our new EPR system. This decision was made following an extensive procurement process that involved over 500 staff, physicians, learners and patient and family partners from across the organization.
This project marks an important milestone in our integration journey and sets the digital foundation for clinical transformation and advanced analytics across Unity Health.
