Canadian College of Health Leaders awarded Unity Health Toronto the 2023 Energy and Environmental Stewardship Award recognizing Unity Health Toronto as a progressive healthcare organization that has implemented organizational-wide initiatives demonstrating environmental responsibility through the reduction of energy usage, the preservation of natural resources and effective waste diversion solutions. 

The Canadian Coalition for Green Health Care awarded Unity Health Toronto for achieving top score in the Leadership – Academic Peer Group for 2022.

The Canadian Coalition for Green Health Care awarded Unity Health Toronto for achieving top score in the Pollution Prevention – Academic Peer Group for 2022.

Stryker awarded St. Joseph’s Health Centre the 2022 Environmental Excellence Award, Silver Level to recognize their efforts in the Stryker Sustainability Program. In 2021, 595 single-use medical devices totaling 487 kg were collected and diverted from the landfill, saving $3,150 in waste removal fees. Additionally, St. Joseph’s used 1,496 reprocessed single-use medical devices, driving approximately $45,000 in budgetary savings.
