Providence receives 2018 PRISM Award
By Emily Dawson
In 2000, the International Coach Federation, Toronto Chapter created the PRISM Award to recognize organizations that use coaching to yield measurable business results. Since 2005, ICF Global adopted the PRISM Award, which has become the epitome of what professional coaching can accomplish at the organizational level. We are thrilled to announce that Providence Healthcare has won the 2018 PRISM Award for the not-for-profit sector.
Providence received the award for our outstanding work with coaching in relation to our Leadership Development Institute (LDI), as well as our continued efforts to embed a coaching approach within the organization through our Internal Coach Certification Program, which provides coaching to all staff and volunteers.
PRISM Award recipients exemplify how coaching can develop an organization’s human capital by maximizing individuals’ potential.
Maggie Bruneau, vice-president, clinical programs and chief nurse executive, accepted the award on behalf of Providence Healthcare at a special ceremony on Mar. 6. “I am so proud to represent an organization like Providence that strongly believes in the importance of coaching to develop the potential of our greatest asset, our people,” Maggie said during her acceptance.
She continued, “There have been many ‘champions’ along the way who have supported our vision to become a leader in bringing the coaching methodology to health care. Their impact on our people development – and the end result of an improved patient experience – has been outstanding. We are indebted to each one, and share this award with them today.”
Organizations must be nominated by an ICF credentialed Coach. Providence Healthcare was nominated by Dorothy Greenaway of People Dynamics Learning Group. Dorothy worked with Providence to develop the Internal Coach Certification Program, as well as on the development of the LDI “Leader as Coach” program.
