Health AI Academy
Unity Health Toronto is a national leader in the use of AI and advanced analytics in health care.
The Health AI Academy is a national training initiative program created by Unity Health Toronto, KPMG and Signal 1 to train health professionals from across Canada on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced analytics in health care. Funded by the DIGITAL Supercluster, the Academy aims to strengthen health system leadership and understanding of AI.
There are two novel components to the course:
Health AI Foundations: A virtual, interactive course taking place from September to November 2025, designed to equip over 200 healthcare professionals and leaders with a foundational understanding of AI in health care systems. This is open to senior executives, decisions makers and clinicians, including physicians, nurses and allied health professionals, as well as operational staff like IT specialists, data analysts, privacy and legal teams, and administrative personnel.
Health AI Fellowship: A one-week immersive, in-person program hosted at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, designed for an interdisciplinary group of 20 participants seeking deeper practical exposure.
