Congratulations to the following researchers at Unity Health who have been elected as 2025 Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS): Dr. Yvonne Bombard, Dr. Duminda Wijeysundera, Dr. Jim Dunn, and Dr. Kamran Khan. Being elected to The Academy is considered one of the highest honours for individuals in the Canadian health sciences community, recognizing dedication and excellence in their respective fields.

Chidumebi Idemili, PhD student at the University of Toronto and MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions, has been awarded the 2025-2026 Angels Den Doctoral Scholarship from St. Michael’s Hospital Foundation. This scholarship recognizes her research in developing new mathematical models to examine the timing of HIV risks and delayed access to HIV prevention amongst sex workers in Kenya.

Dr. Brodie Nolan, emergency physician at St. Michael’s and trauma team leader, has been elected as an inaugural 2025 Emerging Leader in Health Sciences in Canada to the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences (CAHS). This recognition honours his dedication and passion for the future of his field. Congratulations!
