Launching Unity Health Toronto’s 2026-29 Strategic Plan: Exceptional Care, Without Exception
For nearly 170 years, Unity Health Toronto’s hospitals have been an essential part of the communities we serve, delivering compassionate, high-quality care to anyone who comes through our doors. As people live longer and health care needs become increasingly more complex, our communities deserve care that is easier to access, better connected and more responsive, supported by leading-edge technologies.
At Unity Health, we are meeting that challenge. Our 2026-29 Strategic Plan: Exceptional Care, Without Exception sets a focused path forward. Over the next three years, Unity Health will make care more seamless across our network and beyond, advance health equity and Indigenous health in meaningful ways, accelerate innovation and digital excellence, and continue to strengthen our leadership in specialized care.
Our new vision, Exceptional Care, Without Exception, is grounded in our mission and values and shaped by the legacy of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Toronto, who came to Toronto centuries ago with a mission to care for anyone in need. With this legacy at the core of our work, Unity Health teams are delivering exceptional care every day, striving to ensure that no one is left behind.
Thank you to the many patients, families, and community and health system partners who provided invaluable input, feedback and ideas to help shape this plan.
Thank you also to Unity Health staff, physicians, learners and volunteers for informing this plan and helping us create a powerful, values-driven culture defined by compassion, commitment, and a willingness to take on complex challenges. It is this culture that enables us to go further, improve and advance care, and lead in new ways.
This is a plan for action. Together, we will continue to strengthen our system, advance equity, and improve the health outcomes of the patients, residents, and communities we serve.
I invite you to learn more about our 2026-29 Strategic Plan on our website.
Sincerely,
