Education Year in Review
2024-25 Year in Review
Message from Beverly Bulmer, Vice-President of Education

Educating for tomorrow
At Unity Health Toronto our ultimate goal is to provide the best care experiences together. We continue to be system leaders in creating environments conducive to teaching and learning and continue to support Unity-wide education priorities. Our work over this past year has focused on elevating the implementation of Epic across the organization, and developing our new Education Strategic Plan.
Translational simulation has played a key role in improving and streamlining workflow processes to optimize the implementation of Epic, and enables continuous quality improvement across Unity Health. Our new Education Strategic Plan is not about doing everything – it is about doing the right things, really well. Our strategic initiatives are targeted, data and equity-informed and designed to spread impact where it matters most.
This year’s Education Year in Review highlights the work of our teams to create collaborative and welcoming teaching and learning environments that support our staff, physicians, learners and patients. Together we are making education as innovate and compassionate as the care we deliver.
Our stories
Message from Beverly Bulmer, Vice-President of Education

Reimagining teaching and learning.
At Unity Health Toronto our ultimate goal is to provide the best care experiences created together. To achieve this goal we need learning environments where learners, staff, physicians, patients and residents feel valued and respected as part of a high functioning team. In addition, they are empowered to share their knowledge and perspectives.
Through evidence based, collaborative education that is responsive to system needs, we are preparing our staff and physicians to not only perform as they were taught, but to take action and innovate when faced with new challenges. We are educating our current and future healthcare professionals to interact with new technologies and ever changing environments, while prioritizing compassionate and reflexive human connections.
This year’s Education Year in Review highlights the work of our teams to create collaborative and welcoming learning environments that support our staff, physicians and learners to deliver compassionate and innovative care to the communities we serve.
