Dr. Santos completed his MD program, medical residency (Anesthesiology) and PhD in Pharmacology at the State University of Campinas, Brazil.
Since embarking on his medical journey in Canada in 2017, Dr. Filipe Santos has been a dynamic force within Canada’s healthcare community. His quest for excellence culminated in a clinical fellowship in Simulation and Anesthesia education, complemented by a Masters of Science in Community Health (Health Practitioner Teacher Education) obtained in 2020, both at the University of Toronto.
Currently serving as an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, Dr. Santos plays a crucial role in the development of healthcare professionals. His dedication is reflected in his efforts to provide impactful workshops and personalized mentorship, particularly benefiting fellows in his field. He is the site fellowship coordinator for the Unity Health Department of Anesthesiology at St. Michael’s hospital and the Simulation lead for the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at the University of Toronto.
Dr. Santos possesses extensive clinical expertise in trauma care, ambulatory surgeries, perioperative care, and more. With over a decade of specialization and five years of independent practice in Canada, his guidance has been pivotal for numerous international medical graduates aspiring to integrate into the Canadian healthcare system.
