Biography

Dr. Dahlke is the Division Head for Dermatology at St. Joseph’s Health Centre and the physician lead for two of the four hospital-based Mohs micrographic surgery units in Ontario – St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Unity Health Network, and Hotel Dieu Hospital, Kingston Health Sciences Network.

Education and appointments:

Dr. Dahlke’s education includes an HBSc in microbiology and immunology from Dalhousie University, medical school at Western University and dermatology residency at the University of Toronto (FRCPC). She completed additional fellowship subspecialty training in skin oncology and Mohs micrographic surgery (FACMS) at the University of Toronto, and as a Master’s Degree (MScCH) in Health Practitioner Teacher Education at the University of Toronto.

Dr. Dahlke is an adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto and Queens University, and holds cross appointments in the Division of Dermatology at Women’s College Hospital, University Health Network as well as in Laboratory Medicine at St. Michael’s Hospital.

Research and teaching:

Dr. Dahlke’s research interests include the treatment of skin cancer, equity and diversity in medical education, and quality improvement related to patient experience in Mohs surgery. Dr. Dahlke recently lead a major curriculum renewal with a focus on Equity and Inclusion at the University of Toronto Medical school as the Director of Undergraduate Dermatology Medical Education, and was the recipient of a national Clinical teaching award in Post-graduate dermatology teaching from the Canadian Dermatology Association.

Clinical:

Dr. Dahlke’s clinical focus is in providing excellent aesthetic outcomes in post-tumour extirpation facial reconstruction in Mohs micrographic surgery.
