Alex Muccilli is a neurologist at the University of Toronto. She completed her residency at the Université de Montréal, an MEd at the University of Cincinnati, a Neurohospitalist Fellowship at UCSF and an MS and Neuroinflammatory Fellowship in Toronto. She serves as the neurology education site director at St. Michael’s Hospital, co-director of the BARLO MS Fellowship program, and is a strong believer in the Neurohospitalist model of care. She has secondary appointments at UHN and Trillium Health Partners.
Dr. Muccilli sees a large volume of inpatients and outpatients with complex central nervous system autoimmune and neurovascular conditions and is very involved in medical education. Her commitment to health equity led her to develop a clinic providing timely neurology consultations for underrepresented populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, LGBTQ2S+ communities, refugees, and those from Northern Ontario. She has received numerous teaching accolades including the Robert H. Hyland Teacher of the Year Award from the Department of Medicine, the Neurology Faculty Teaching and Mentorship Awards, the Wightman-Berris Academy Teaching Excellence Award from UHN and the Sinai Health Excellence in Education Award. Dr. Muccilli is committed to training future generations and advancing quality improvement with a focus on equity.
