Dr. Adam MacLellan obtained his medical degree in 2012 from Western University in London, Ontario. Thereafter, he completed the Adult Neurology residency training program at the University of Toronto in 2017, followed by a two-year Vascular Neurology Clinical and Research Fellowship at Stanford University in Palo Alto, California.
Thereafter, from 2019-2023 Dr. MacLellan worked at Vancouver Island Health Authority and was a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia. In Victoria he helped build the stroke program locally, and regionally on Vancouver Island, highlighted by the development and implementation of a dedicated Stroke Service for Vancouver Island to complement the evolving endovascular stroke program.
Currently, Dr. MacLellan is an Assistant Professor with the University of Toronto where he practices inpatient/outpatient stroke and outpatient general neurology at St. Michael’s Hospital. He is involved with the University of Toronto in undergraduate and postgraduate (resident/fellow) teaching, and was a co-developer and current co-organizer of the novel PGY5 Transition to Practice (TTP) outpatient neurology rotation for senior neurology trainees in the neurology residency program. He also participates in the Ontario Telestroke Program, providing acute telemedicine consultation to patients with suspected stroke in community hospital emergency rooms around the province.
