A large part of a successful recovery in hospital has to do with the food patients eat. Across Unity Health Toronto, our teams work hard to prepare safe, nutritious meals to help patients get back to their normal as quickly as possible. Part of that includes watching for food alerts and not using any products that have been recalled due to potential or confirmed contamination.
Here are a few of the practices we follow:
- We track and respond to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Public Health Agency of Canada who issue food recalls and advisories.
- Our kitchens and food spaces are regularly inspected by Dine Safe, Toronto Public Health’s food safety program, and post the results of those inspections publicly.
- We provide updates on our website when there are recalls so that anyone who has eaten at any of our sites can see the action we are taking.
