Statement regarding Unity Health Toronto’s mask policy

At St. Joseph’s Health Centre we work to ensure all patients receive the best possible care. Masks must be worn by everyone in our hospital in order to keep patients, staff and visitors safe. This policy follows guidelines set out by Ontario’s Ministry of Health based on our best scientific understanding of COVID-19 and how it spreads.

We encourage all community members to seek care when they need it. At St. Joseph’s and any of our Unity Health Toronto sites, you will be asked questions about any COVID-19 related symptoms, to wear a mask and remember to maintain physical distancing in all parts of the hospital.

We want to thank staff at St. Joseph’s Health Centre and frontline workers across Ontario for caring for our communities.

All media for the organization is co-ordinated through the Communications and Public Affairs department. Members of the media interested in speaking to a physician, researcher or any staff member at Unity Health Toronto (Providence Healthcare, St. Joseph’s Health Centre and St. Michael’s Hospital) are asked to contact the Communications and Public Affairs department in advance of any interview or photo opportunities. A Communications and Public Affairs representative must accompany any member of the media when at any Unity Health Toronto site.
